Here’s an exceptional Barbera at an everyday price point. It comes from Scarpa, traditional Barbera d’Asti specialist in the Monferrato area. We get bramble, dried violets, wet hay and liquorice on the nose, and then an exceedingly elegant, focused palate. Extended aging in the bottle before release brings us perfectly balanced tannins and acidity, and flavors of cranberries and red plum. Pairs with literally everything.
