Joe Swick, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Oregon
Organic, whole cluster fermentation, unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2.
Joe Swick started his own wine label in 2013 after traveling and working in wine all over the world. He makes a bunch of different wines with grapes sourced from organic and biodynamic vineyards in the Willamette and Columbia of Oregon and Washington.
This Pinot Noir is a gem. Fairly light in body, and best served at cellar temp or with a slight chill. The nose lets you know right away you're in for something a little different- I get coriander, but Abigale just shouts "Dill Pickles!" The palette is brambly and juicy, with a touch of warm kitchen spices (clove, cinnamon) to remind you of the season. Only 4,800 bottles produced, so get em while they last.
