Located 40 km south of Strasbourg, Domaine Bohn is run by Bernard and his son Arthur, and has been in the family for over two centuries. They are practicing biodynamic and Fukuoka-inspired in the vineyard (look it up!) This do-nothing ethos is carried over to the winery where minimal interventions are taken to let the unique (for Alsace) schist terroir shine through.
En Vrac is a non vintage blend of Riesling and Sylvaner and it is a real enigma. I get green apples, beeswax, preserved lemon and a touch of bread yeast on the nose. The palate is dry, with more of that green apple, slatey minerality and just a touch of honey.
